FAQs

What subjects are taught through DEYAH?
Health, science, tangible functions based on community needs, math, social studies. We enhance the curriculum according to the students’ and schools’ needs.

How do you find teachers & where do they come from?
DEYAH requires its teachers to have a minimum qualification of High school (12 years of education). With ongoing professional development and training from DEYAH, project staff teachers are learning to instruct with activities and interactive group methods that focus on comprehension and conceptual understanding.

How do you convince parents to send their daughters to school?
In order to respond to this, the first responsibility of DEYAH is to assess community interest and identify an individual who commands respect in the community. We then evaluate and find a suitable site for the school and advocate the importance of education to parents and the respective communities. Understanding the importance and benefits of education, neighboring community members often voluntarily approach the DEYAH's project staff to open schools in their community.

How do you manage schools?
The role of the Executive Board is to provide support and oversight while the day-to-day management is done by our support staff and interested individuals internationally.
